September
A good spell of weather for a change, with this mouth starting off well.
Reports that have been handed in and word of mouth have been very encouraging, with reports of good Bream catches at Lanesbough on the deep side where the boats tie up with weights of over 100lbs.
Excellent catches of Tench coming from the Canal at Abbeyshrule with up to 14 fish around the 4 lbs mark netted by two regular anglers from England.
Too add to this great news "The Meadows" at Athlone has come alive but only in the hours of darkness, very little throughout the day. John Stroud from Gloucester fished 3 nights from his holiday at The Meadows with outstanding catches of well over the 100lbs mark, Bream to 6lbs, Hybrids up to 4lbs and many Roach just under 2lbs stamp.
On the Inny, there has been the odd day with good catches of Hybrids and small bits.
I and Chris left the Inny behind for 4 days and took off to Wexford for some Bird Watching and had the best of weather, pictures will soon be sorted.
