October 2012

(these reports are displayed as most recent first)

8th - 20th October

Weather has become autumnal with cold mornings and showers throughout the day. Water levels are very high and the Inny is viewable from my house.

Peter is still out and about catching fish at various locations, he is mainly hitting the Roach but he is enjoying himself.

Chris has been off on his travels again and left me all on my own, he went back to Mallorca for the migration run and had a great time spotting Bluethroats, Little Bitterns, Tortoises, Snakes and Insects.

I was out again watching the moon and took another shot, slightly less than the 9,500 photos Chris managed in his 10 day break...

1st - 7th October

Weather for October has started with rain and big winds, frost in the mornings and just the occasional burst of sunshine.

Peter is still at it, catching steadily at his favourite venues.

Good Pike fishing was had on Lough Ree at the end of September although, as is getting more typical, people are reluctant to give the exact locations of catches for fear of netting...

We had a great email from John Stroud who has been fishing Lough Ree throughout the year. He managed a 36lb Pike, a 6lb Trout and some excellent Bream fishing over near Barrymore, congratulations on the good catches and thanks for the email and pictures !!
