November 08

(these reports are displayed as most recent first)

1st - 7th November

The cold winter days have arrived in earnest now, temperatures have dropped enough to give us the first real frosts of the year.

Fishing has become an event that only the bravest would endure. Frank did have a trip down to Doonis Lough, and despite seeing several tench moving through the swim the fish were not forthcoming.

The Bird feeders have all been filled and the winter birds have descended. Goldfinches are turning up to enjoy the offerings along with a huge range of other birds. The Hawks are around in force picking off any of the slower prey.

A large digger has been seen making its way up and down the River Inny, cleaning up the river by digging out all of the bottom silt and dropping it on the bank, so we shall wait and see exactly what this will mean for the fishing next year. We will remain hopeful that it will improve the conditions.
