March 2010

(these reports are displayed as most recent first)

Welcome to the new season of 2010.

It's time to start the fishing reports for this year, after such a long winter. It has been impossible to even to go outside yet alone Fish. It is now passed St Patrick's and usually we should be hearing news from the river bank, the last few days I have seen a few anglers at Shrule Bridge ( White Bridge) spinning for Trout with the odd small fish being landed and returned to the water.

Chris and his cousin Philip were down at the Inny today and had some sport late on with Perch and Trout, there were some Roach showing as light failed. The weather held for a good evening's sport.

Chris and I have been out with the cameras on the good days to Doonis and Portumna and Doonis Bog has seen the return of the Kingfishers as well as a great influx of Frogs.

Red Bridge has had its odd angler doing the spinning bit but I got no results to pass on.

Lanesbourgh has seen some results last week with some good bags of fish that were taken on the Hot Water Stretch. Mixed bags of Roach, Perch and Hybrid falling to maggots and sweetcorn.

Chris went to Tunisia for the birds and wildlife only to be slightly disappointed in what he found.

Paddies Day turned out to be a very good day with it's possession of new Floats and Vintage Tractors along with the children all dressed up in a variety of themes. Now that the weather is on the up! We hope to keep you right up to date on the angling and the wild life.
