5th - 23rd June
We've had spells of Flaming June and long spells of no rain making this month very patchy with low water levels.
Still, three anglers from Nottingham, Bernie, Phil and Nick had great sport on the River Suck (Coreen Forde) with catches of good Roach, Hybrids and the odd small Bream. Having fished their old time favorite swims at Abbeyshrule on the Canal they had an all time best on Tench up to 6lb and Roach up to 16ozs, Top haul was 14 Tench for Bernie 11 for Phil and 11 for Nick in one session. This, with a good top-up on the Guinness and plenty of Food and the evenings spent at Lizzies.
Jimmy paid us a visit (also from Nottingham) with "friends" not sure why he didn't come with the other lads; David had his first Irish Guinness and his mother watched over him so he did not fall foul of the Black Stuff.

Very little is known at other venues as there is a shortage of anglers but the ponds around Strokestown are still producing good Tench and Roach. Out on the Lough from Tommy's, sport has been very good on Pike although they've been on the small side with the odd good Trout falling to anglers baits - at least it's Warm and there's rain falling which I hope might put some life back in the waters.
All the wildlife is now in full swing with all their young having to be fed and reared.

1st - 4th June.
Some good sunny weather in between thunderstorms, light winds from the South.
What with trips abroad and visits to England we have got a bit behind with the old reports. Chris went off to Malta and I have been over in England with Frank. So we are waiting to get back to the fishing again soon. Doonis Lough has seen some anglers recently and they have had some good fishing up there. There are a lot of smallish roach being shoaled up by Perch and Pike.
On the Inny the mouth is still producing Hybrids of an evening and the odd roach still popping up. As soon as the light drops then the eel appear and most anglers give up about then.
Still we are all back now and the fishing will pick up again soon I am sure.
