1st - 11th February
As with the last 2 weeks of January we've suffered Constant Bad weather, lots of Wind and Rain with the rivers well up to their winter levels. February has allowed Peter to venture out in between to try and locate fish; the only success was at Turnmonbarry within the confines of the Marina, here he had good success with catches of Roach to 12ozs plus a few Hybrids.
Michael and John (2 young brothers from Athlone) have had fair catches at Banagher Marina, weather permitting.
Chris has been about looking for Wildlife, Tens of thousands of Golden Plover and Lapwing with a few Whooper Swans at Saints Island and a great gathering of birds looking for partners and nest sites all due to the Mild start to February but not so in the UK (Lincolnshire -16deg) 10-02-12. Pat and Derek have Redpolls in their garden in Ballymahon.
