February 07
(these reports are displayed as most recent first)
18th to 26th Feb.
The weather has improved much over the last week with the river down to its spring levels and all swims are now accessible. With the light levels now stretching out things should be on the up!
Over the last week, Peter has had 5 visits to the river, with greater success as the week progressed. With single fish (Hybrids.) Now the fish are beginning to gather in greater numbers. The latest catch was 4 great fish of 2lbs plus, with several drop-offs, and several Perch, all this has been through 3 hour sessions on each occasion.

"The Snapper" (Peter) armed with his latest Toy has beaten me into second place on the picture stakes with a capture of a terrific shot of these Hares whilst fishing in swim 32 in between bites.

17th Feb.
Now Peter, complete with a new camera ( Christmas Pressie ) is chomping at the bit to get things moving on the fishing scene, so he dug a few worms from the dung heap together with a couple of grains of sweet corn and landed at "The Bog Hole" with the water levels down to a favorable level.
Four bites 1 fish a (Perch) facing a bitter wind he managed 2 hours which was plenty long enough.
I myself have done nothing on the fishing side apart from looking at the water levels from the comforts of the Jeep along with Scully as a co-passenger. Chris and I have been working hard at the Photography on some of the bright days to try and capture a bit of wildlife to fill a few gaps at this time of the year.

1st - 16th February
The light levels are stretching and there's the first movement in the plant life with Daffs popping their heads up and the buds are starting to swell on some trees. Two Pikers were on the river earlier this month from Mullingar and landed a couple of small Pike.
Peter found himself at swim 27 out of the chilling wind for a few hours but failed to get a touch.
