December 07

(these reports are displayed as most recent first)

December 1st - 9th

Christmas is nearly here again fishing has stopped for the winter as the fine dry autumn turned into a cold wet winter, we have had a fine assortment of rain, rain and more rain with some cold nights to go with it.

The river is in flood at the moment and lough ree has come up a good few feet in the last 6 days, but this has not stopped everyone from enjoying the river. At Ballymahon the local kayak club has been making the most of the rougher water.

We were sent this lovely photo montage of the kayakers doing their thing:

There was a great musical accompanyment thanks to the Shearings family. So the day went off with a bang.

Naturally enough the alcohol was flowing and this helped to keep everyone in excellent spirits.
