Tight lines
13th / 14th December.
Apart from the last 2 days the weather got the better of us over the last week with cold, wet and windy conditions.
Peter and Frank have kept their heads down with me confined to bed with a Bug.
Anyhow all changed on the Tuesday 13th with the weather breaking into mild and calm conditions -Peter was at the Bog Hole for a couple of hours just for a tester. First cast; a fine Trout of around 2 lbs. Second cast a second Trout of around 3 lbs. followed by 6 great Hybrids and they were still feeding when Peter pulled out because of the cold evening.
Wednesday 14th and the weather was outstanding with Warm Sunshine for most of the day. Yipppeee !!! was the cry from Peter when he landed on my doorstep at 4pm, 3 hours fishing with a fish every 4 minuets around the 3 to 4 lb. (Hybrids and Bream) Yes! Peter times everything.
Work it out, Not Bad for an Old Bugger!!
Sorry no Polaroid Picture (No Keepnet )
Birdlife over here is doing very well with the redwings spreading out and stuffing the berries down their throats as fast as they can...

Even the odd stoat has been seen rummaging for food:

1st - 7th December.
Weather cold and frosty, light winds with early fog and drizzle.
Peter is still persevering to find fish in several other venues, Ballykeeran, The Canal near Mullingar, Drum Lake only to find things are very quiet and only managing several small fish.
Things on The Inny have been slow also; Peter took a couple of Hybrids from swim 32 and the odd Perch. Frank has had time-out for other duties around the Parish so I didnt go out too much last week awaiting the Christmas Party for the senior citizens on Sunday at the newly refurbished Old School House where we were well minded with food and drink and some great music from local bands.
